Helene Aftermath

On the early morning of September 27, 2024, Hurricane Helene tore through the beautiful valley of Valdosta, GA. We were the first city in south Georgia to be directly impacted by the category 3/4 hurricane. The damage is extensive. The majority of the city is still without power and remain on a day-to-day basis with regards to basic necessities. Helene marks the third hurricane to affect Valdosta within the past 13 months. Most people were just recovering from Idalia and find themselves in a worse situation than that storm. Click here for Images >>

Relief Efforts

It took six months after Hurricane Idalia to feel the effects of recovery; therefore, we expect a realistic recovery to take place slowly over many weeks. There are a few ways you can get involved in helping to relieve the community:

CCV

Calvary Chapel Valdosta is working to create a plan of action and teams to volunteer in the community, provide clean-up services, spiritual counseling, and assistance with supplies. Simply email office@ccvaldosta.com to inquire about becoming part of the local effort.

Samaritan's Purse

In 2023, Calvary Chapel Valdosta volunteered with Samaritan's purse on specific jobs to remove trees and yard clean-up. We had many opportunities to share the gospel and the love of the Lord while working alongside this organization. The first step to working with Samaritan's Purse is apply as a volunteer. Once approved, you can join a team that CCV will register. Click this link for the first step: Samaritan's Purse Valdosta Georgia - Hurricane Helene.
